National Advisory Board
The S3AM project is a partnership between academia, non-profits, commercial aquaculture across three coastal regions, and extension networks. Together, these stakeholders will engage in S3AM development, field trials, economic studies, and implementation to increase production regionally and nationally. The goal of S3AM overall is to advance farming techniques, cut costs, and increase production and farm profitability.
The National Advisory Board—including industry representatives, nonprofits, extension faculty, and researchers from West, Gulf and East coasts—provides ongoing advice related to industry needs and aids in guiding S3AM development.
Quarterly, the Advisory Board meets with a steering committee for input in program development and dissemination of advances, and to provide input for creating technical training curricula and programs.
Annually, the Advisory Board meets in Maryland to educate attendees on the progress on the S3AM framework and discuss regional differences that will need to be addressed for field trials and final deployment of the technology.

S3AM Technology Partners
CROP INVENTORY MODELING AND MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
Crop management software is universal across agriculture. The S3AM system brings the best practices in crop management and modeling technology to the on-bottom aquaculture industry.
In collaboration with Fraunhofer USA CESE, using the mapping data from S3AM monitoring and existing farm management models, S3AM provides cutting-edge farm management, data analysis, and visualization software. Designed for user-friendliness, this software will help farmers better manage and predict the volume, growth, and health of their shellfish crops, allowing them to develop and evaluate business plans that improve the economic viability of shellfish farming operations.
